Founded in 1975 in Dallas, Texas, by Larry Lavine, who set out to open a casual burger joint modelled loosely on California-style diners after struggling to find good burgers in Texas at the time. Grew into one of the largest full-service casual-dining chains in the US, known for Tex-Mex-leaning bar food and baby back ribs.
