Founded in 1953 in Lakewood, California, as Danny's Donuts by Harold Butler, before expanding into a full 24-hour diner menu and being renamed Denny's in 1959. Built its identity specifically around staying open around the clock, every day, becoming a fixture of American late-night and highway dining.
