Founded in 1959 in Garden City, Michigan, by husband-and-wife team Mike and Marian Ilitch, who later also owned the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers. Built its identity around value and speed, introducing the "Hot-N-Ready" concept — pre-made pizzas ready at set times without needing to order ahead — nationally in 2004.
