Founded in 1996 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, by Todd Graves, who reportedly built the concept from a college business-plan project that received a poor grade. Built around a deliberately narrow menu — chicken fingers and little else — it became one of the fastest-growing restaurant chains in America.
