Founded in 1950 in Corpus Christi, Texas, by Harmon Dobson, who wanted to make a burger big enough that customers would exclaim "What a burger!" on the first bite — hence the name. Became a deeply loved Texas institution, instantly recognisable nationwide by its distinctive orange-and-white striped A-frame roof.
