McDonald's in Spain: what to order and what it costs
What is McDonald's like in Spain?
McDonald's opened its first Spanish restaurant in 1981. Spain's menu uses local names, so the Quarter Pounder becomes the Cuarto de Libra and the chicken sandwich is the McPollo. Once you know the words, it's easy to read.
Our Spanish list is short, with five items in two sections: Menús and A la Carta. It covers the classics. McDonald's restaurants are mostly run by franchisees, so real prices can vary by branch.
How much is a Big Mac in Spain?
A Big Mac on its own costs €7.05. The full meal, the McMenú Big Mac, costs €10.10. So the fries and drink add €3.05, which is about 43% on top of the burger.
In Spain the menu split is simple. A la carta means the item alone. McMenú means the burger, fries and a drink. If you only want the burger, ask for it a la carta.
Beef, chicken or a snack?
The rest of the list gives you three quick comparisons:
| Item | Price | Compared with a Big Mac |
|---|---|---|
| 9 Chicken McBites | €2.05 | €5.00 less |
| Cuarto de Libra con Queso | €6.45 | 60c less |
| McPollo | €6.45 | 60c less |
| Big Mac | €7.05 | — |
The Cuarto de Libra and the McPollo cost exactly the same, so the choice between beef and chicken is about taste, not price. The 9 Chicken McBites are the cheap option at €2.05, which works out at about 23c each. That's a snack, not a meal.
Is the McMenú good value?
It depends on what you compare it with. On our Spanish lists, the McMenú Big Mac at €10.10 is:
- €1.40 cheaper than the set menu at Goiko Grill, which costs €11.50 for a burger, a drink and a dessert.
- €5.15 more expensive than the Menú Pans at Pans & Company, which costs €4.95 for a sandwich, a side and a drink.
So a McMenú is a mid-priced meal in Spain. If you want the cheapest full meal, the sandwich chains beat it. If you want a burger with a drink, it sits below the gourmet chains.
How does McDonald's compare with other Spanish chains?
By the middle price of the items we list, McDonald's is the fourth cheapest of the 14 chains we track in Spain, at about €6.45. Only 100 Montaditos, Starbucks and Rodilla come in lower. Those are small-bite and coffee chains, where a typical order is a single item.
For a full meal, the picture is different. A McMenú Big Mac is €10.10. The Telepibox at Telepizza, which includes a burger, a side and a drink, is €12.95, or €2.85 more. On price alone, McDonald's is a sensible middle option.
What is not on our Spanish list?
Our list is short, so some things aren't here. We don't have prices for breakfast items, McCafé coffee, desserts or the Happy Meal. Check the McDonald's app before you order, because the menu can change. We add items when we can verify them from a dated source.
Do you pay tax or tip at McDonald's in Spain?
Menu prices in Spain already include IVA, the value-added tax. Restaurants, bars and cafés charge 10% on food and drink for 2026. You don't need to tip at McDonald's. For sit-down meals elsewhere, leaving small change is a friendly gesture. Our Spanish eating-out guide explains the details.
What are the alternatives to McDonald's in Spain?

Are delivery apps more expensive in Spain?
Often. Apps such as Glovo, Uber Eats and Just Eat can show higher prices than the restaurant, and they add delivery fees. Use our delivery markup calculator to see the real cost. Collecting your order is usually cheaper.
How did we get these prices?
McDonald's doesn't publish one national price list in Spain. We used the fastfoodsmenu.com listing for McDonald's España, which is dated 25 April 2026. We fetched it on 8 September 2026, so the prices are several months older than most of our other McDonald's listings. It isn't tied to one restaurant.
Treat the figures as a representative guide. Each page shows the date we last verified the menu, and you can read how we check prices on our methodology page.
