McDonald's in France: what to order and what it costs
McDonald's France menu in English: the short answer
A Big Mac costs €6.95 at McDonald's in France on our list, or about $7.90. Fries start at €2.50, an espresso costs €2.50 and a McFlurry costs €5.70.
Our French list now has 54 items in seven sections: burgers, nuggets and salads, meals, fries, breakfast, McCafé and desserts. We checked it on 10 October 2026. Most French branches are run by franchisees, so prices can differ a little from one restaurant to the next.
The menu board will be in French. Many names are English anyway (Big Mac, McChicken, Filet-O-Fish), and the glossary below covers the rest.
How much is a Big Mac in France?
A Big Mac on its own costs €6.95, about $7.93. The McChicken costs exactly the same. A Double Big Mac is €8.30.
In France, a burger without fries or a drink is called seul ("on its own"). If you order a Big Mac and stop there, that's what you'll pay.
How much is a Big Mac meal (Best Of) in France?
We can't give you a checked price for this one. A meal in France is called a menu, and the standard version is the Best Of: a burger with medium fries and a medium drink. The Maxi Best Of comes with large fries and a large drink. Our source doesn't list the price of either for the Big Mac.
French price guides published in 2026 put a Best Of at around €9.60 and a Maxi Best Of at around €10.80. Treat those as rough figures: the guides don't agree, and their numbers run from about €9 to €13. Check the McDonald's France app or the kiosk for your branch.
If the guides are right, the meal is a good deal. On our list, a Big Mac with medium fries already comes to €11.25 before you add a drink.
We do have a few meal prices. A Caesar salad meal costs €11.20 with a drink, or €11.50 as a Best Of. The 20-nugget sharing meal for two (Best Of Duo) costs €23.50, and the Maxi version is €1.10 more.

Self-order kiosks are common in French branches, and they usually let you switch the language. Dip sauces aren't free: they cost €0.60 each on our list.
What do the burgers cost?
The full prices are in the menu above. Here's how they group:
- Under €6: Croque McDo (€3.90), Filet-O-Fish and Double Cheese (€5.70 each), McVeggie (€5.90)
- €6 to €9: Double Cheese Bacon (€6.10), Big Mac and McChicken (€6.95), Double Big Mac (€8.30), Royal Cheese (€8.60), Royal Deluxe and McCrispy (€8.70)
- €9 and up: Big Tasty and CBO (€9.30), 280 Original (€9.90), Big Arch (€10.90)
The Croque McDo is the cheapest item in the burger section, and the most French. The Big Arch is the most expensive, at €3.95 more than a Big Mac.
How much are fries at McDonald's in France?
- Petite (small): €2.50
- Moyenne (medium): €4.30
- Grande (large): €4.50
Deluxe Potatoes cost the same as fries in medium and large. The jump from small to medium is €1.80, but going from medium to large costs only 20c more. If you're hungry, the large is the better buy.
Which nuggets are the best value?
Nuggets get cheaper per piece as the box gets bigger:
- 6 nuggets: €5.70, about 95c each
- 9 nuggets: €7.50, about 83c each
- 20 nuggets: €13.90, just under 70c each
If you're sharing, the 20-piece box costs over a quarter less per nugget than the 6-piece.
What does breakfast cost?
Breakfast (petit-déjeuner) is good value by French standards:
- Croissant: €2.00
- Pain au chocolat: €2.10
- Bacon & Beef McMuffin: €4.00
- Duo Sucré (sweet): €4.30
- Duo Salé (savoury): €5.50
- Menu Brunch: €9.90
A croissant at the bakery chain Brioche Dorée is €1.10 on our lists, so McDonald's is 90c dearer.
How much is coffee at McCafé?
McCafé is closer to a French café than a fast-food counter. An espresso costs €2.50 and a double is €3.00. A café allongé and an iced Americano are both €3.90.
Milky drinks cost more. A hot chocolate is €4.40, a cappuccino or café latte is €4.50 and a large latte is €5.50.
What desserts and milkshakes are there?
- Apple Pie or small milkshake: €2.50
- Cookie: €3.20
- Donut or large milkshake: €3.50
- Chocolate muffin: €3.80
- Sundae: €4.90
- McFlurry (M&M's or KitKat): €5.70
The large milkshake is only €1 more than the small one.
What can you eat for under €5?
Plenty. A Croque McDo with small fries comes to €6.40, which is less than a Big Mac on its own. Everything below costs under €5 on our list:

- Small fries, apple pie, espresso or small milkshake (€2.50)
- Croque McDo (€3.90)
- Bacon & Beef McMuffin (€4.00)

Is McDonald's more expensive in Paris?
Often, yes. The French price guides we read say branches in Paris, railway stations and airports charge more. They suggest Paris prices run roughly 10–15% higher. We haven't checked this branch by branch, so treat our list as a guide to typical French prices.
How does a Big Mac in France compare with other countries?
On our lists, a Big Mac in France sits in the middle of the eurozone pack:

If you're visiting from the UK or the US, expect to pay more for a Big Mac in France. Within the euro area, France is 45c dearer than Italy and a little cheaper than Spain or Ireland.
How does McDonald's compare with other French chains?
On our French lists, a hamburger at Quick, the Belgian-founded burger chain, is €3.75, and its Giant is €9.00. A Classic Burger at Buffalo Grill is €11.50, and a solo burger at Big Fernand starts at €12.90.
So McDonald's sits at the lower-middle end for a burger. Our French eating-out guide compares more chains.
Do you pay tax or tip at McDonald's in France?
No extra tax, and no tip. French menu prices include TVA (French VAT). By law, French restaurant prices include service, so a tip is optional, and nobody expects one at a counter.

How did we get these prices?
McDonald's doesn't publish one national price list in France. We used the fastfoodsmenu.com listing for McDonald's France, which the site dates 22 August 2026. We first read it on 20 September 2026 and went back on 10 October to add fries, breakfast, McCafé and desserts. It isn't tied to one restaurant, and we can't tell whether it shows in-store or app prices.
